Surfaced by Mehul Agarwal on X in March 2026, reporting what he called the most unhinged data point he had ever collected: a survey run off a viral founders singles mixer found that 70% of single SF founders chose Claude Code over GPT Codex. The full breakdown: "I am Claude pilled" 70.1%, "Codex is life" 8%, lobsters 10.3%, AI agents and non-technical founders 11.5%. The follow-up post crowned the thread: "Is Claude Code why you're single?" - a sentence he admitted Claude itself had suggested.
Claude-pilled had entered the lexicon in early 2026 as shorthand for rebuilding your entire workflow around Claude Code. This ism extends the diagnosis from the workflow to the social calendar: the agent always has one more task running, and so, therefore, do you. Why close the laptop for a first date when the plan mode is mid-plan?
Where single until Series B blames the company and uggmaxxing claims the lock-in was the point, this ism names the accomplice sitting in the terminal. All three describe the same person. That person is currently accepting an edit.
